Staff Sergeant Bobby Harris Comes Home From Vietnam to His Final Rest.

Staff Sergeant Bobby Harris began his journey home at 11:24am on Thursday, August 26, 2004.   Thirty three years after Army Sergeant Harris was killed in action, his remains were found, identified and sent home to his family in Checotah, Oklahoma.

Sergeant Harris died when his assault helicopter took enemy fire.  DNA tests on the bones found near his helmet verified his identity.  His family had not known for sure what happened to him until the identification was made.

Sergeant Harris was buried on September 3rd at Oklahoma's Fort Gibson National Cemetery.   His family requested a motorcycle escort and hundreds of bikers from all over Oklahoma and the surrounding area came to pay their respects to a fallen brother.

Welcome Home Sergeant Harris.  Rest in Pease.
